Product Description
The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 104-E205KD22 is a next-generation, eco-friendly (RoHS compliant) IEC 104 series reversing contactor designed for AC-3 duty applications up to 205 Amps. Meeting UL, CE, and CSA standards, it features a smaller footprint than previous models and supports IE3 premium efficiency motors from 110 to 160 kW (220-1000V AC, 50 Hz). Its standard electronic AC/DC coil operates from 100-250V AC/DC (50/60 Hz), with a pick-up power of 130W and a hold-in power of 2.5W, offering closing and opening delay times of 25-60ms and 45-90ms, respectively. Part of the Bulletin 104-E line, it includes 3 main poles, 1 N.O. and 1 N.C. auxiliary contact with mechanical interlock, and AC-1 current ratings of 350A/275A at 690V/1000V (50 Hz, 40C). It handles rated operational power of 110-160 kW for 3-phase AC motors (50 Hz, 60C) and supports up to 200 HP motors (300A general-purpose current per UL/CSA), with main terminals accommodating conductor sizes from 10-150 sq mm.
Is Your Device Showing These Signs?
The Allen Bradley 104-E205KD22 commonly experiences issues such as contact welding due to excessive inrush current, coil burnout from sustained overvoltage or thermal overload, and mechanical wear affecting armature movement. Troubleshooting includes inspecting contact surfaces for pitting or erosion, verifying coil resistance is within specified parameters, and assessing the mechanical linkage for binding or damage. Replacement of worn contacts, coils, or the entire starter assembly is necessary to restore proper motor control and prevent system downtime. Proper overload relay settings are critical to prevent future failures.
