Product Description
The Allen-Bradley 150-SC1NBR SMC-50 Smart Motor Controller, part of the Bulletin 150 SMC-50 family, provides microcomputer-controlled starting for 3-phase induction motors. This solid-state controller uses SCRs for efficient, variable torque control and includes built-in motor protection. It offers 9 start modes with advanced digital control and monitoring to maximize uptime and minimize maintenance. Like other SMC-50 controllers, it features an SCR-controlled energy saver for lightly loaded motors. The 150-SC1NBR is rated for 210A, suitable for 25-60HP industrial motors, and accepts 200-460V AC (3-phase) input with a -15% to +10% tolerance. Its power circuit has a 6000V IEC impulse voltage rating, 500V insulation voltage, and 2,200V dielectric withstand. It features a 1600V peak inverse voltage and an integrated RC Snubber Network for DV/DT protection. The 24V DC/AC control circuit operates from 15-30V DC with a 7mA inrush current and switching times of 30ms (On-to-Off) and 20ms (Off-to-On). It includes two programmable electromagnetic relay outputs (Aux #1, Aux #2) with NO/NC contacts rated at 3A/1.5A (120V AC/240V AC). It operates without derating from -4 to 104F (5-95% RH, non-condensing) and can be stored from -13 to 167F. It's designed for operation up to 6560ft altitude, withstands 15G shock and 1G vibration, weighs approximately 105lbs, and ships in a 36in x 60in x 14in package.
Is Your Device Showing These Signs?
The Allen Bradley 150-SC1NBR SMC Flex Smart Motor Controller commonly experiences issues such as communication failures on the EtherNet/IP network, often traced to incorrect IP address configuration or firmware incompatibility. Overload faults are frequent, stemming from improper motor FLA settings or thermal overload relay malfunctions. Short circuits in the motor windings or wiring can trigger immediate trips, requiring thorough insulation resistance testing. Parameter corruption within the controller's memory necessitates a factory reset and reprogramming. Finally, failures in the SCR power switching components result in motor starting problems and require component replacement.
