The Allen-Bradley 1746-IB32 is a 32-channel, 24VDC discrete input module for SLC 500 systems, designed to interface with switches, sensors, and other ON/OFF devices. It operates within a 15-30V DC range at 50C (122F) or 15-26.4V DC at 60C (140F). Compatible with any SLC 500 processor and ideally suited for modular hardware, it can be installed locally, in an expansion I/O rack, or in a remote I/O chassis, occupying any available chassis slot except slot 1. It draws 50 mA at 5VDC from the backplane, features a removable terminal block for easy wiring and maintenance, and provides 1500 VAC isolation between the backplane and I/O. Key specifications include a maximum off-state input voltage of 5VDC, a nominal input current of 5.1 mA at 24V DC, typical signal delays of 8 ms, and an operating temperature range of 0-60C (32-140F). Power must be removed during installation as it does not support RIUP.
