The Allen-Bradley 1771-LI Loop Controller Interface Module enables a programmable logic controller to interface with up to 15 single-loop PID controllers via an RS-485 serial link, drawing 1.2A at 5V DC from the backplane and supporting a multi-drop bus up to 4000 cable feet. This single-slot module, installed in a 1771 I/O chassis and keyed between pins 12/14 and 16/18, communicates half-duplex at 4,800 Baud with a maximum loop update time of approximately 2 seconds for all 15 loops, and operates between 0-60C (32-140F) at 5-95% non-condensing humidity, with a storage temperature range of -40 to 85C (-40 to 185F).
