The Allen-Bradley 1772-SD2 Remote I/O Scanner Distribution Panel, designed for Allen-Bradley Mini PLC-2 processors, doubles the I/O capacity of previous models to 1792 points. Implementing a serial network for industrial monitoring and control requires a PLC-2 processor, the 1772-SD2, a Remote I/O Adapter Module, and a Twinaxial Cable. The 1772-SD2 scans field sensor status, sends data to the PLC-2 for processing, receives PLC-2 responses, and transmits commands to field adapters for actuator control. Troubleshooting is simplified by eight bi-color front panel indicators: off indicates no connection, green indicates proper communication, and red indicates an I/O fault. Additional diagnostic alerts, including Active Communication, Adapter Fault, and I/O Rack Fault, are available, with detailed indicator combinations explained in the user manual.
