Product Description

The Allen-Bradley 2085-IM8 is a Micro800 series expansion I/O module, housed in an IP20-rated enclosure, designed to enhance Micro850 controller capabilities. This module features 8 voltage inputs operating at 159-240V AC (50-60 Hz) and communicates with the controller via an I/O expansion port, updating data on each input state change. Key specifications include: maximum off-state voltage of 40V AC, maximum off-state current of 2.25 mA, minimum on-state current of 4 mA (at 159V AC), maximum on-state current of 7 mA (at 240V AC), maximum input impedance of 22.2 kΩ, maximum inrush current of 450 mA, and maximum bus current draw of 150 mA at 5V DC. Wiring requires 90 oC (194 oF) or greater rated copper wire with a maximum insulation of 1.2 mm (3/64 in.), supporting solid wire sizes from 0.34 to 2.5 mm2 (22-14 AWG) and stranded wire sizes from 0.2-2.5 mm2 (24-14 AWG) with a terminal screw torque of 0.5-0.6 Nm (4.4-5.3 lb-in.). The module dissipates 2.34 W, includes eight yellow status indicators, weighs 140 g (4.93 oz), and measures 28 x 90 x 87 mm (1.10 x 3.54 x 3.42 in.).

Is Your Device Showing These Signs?

The Allen Bradley 2085-IM8 module commonly experiences issues such as communication failures stemming from corrupted firmware or backplane connectivity problems. Input signal degradation due to faulty wiring or sensor malfunctions is a frequent concern. Resolve power supply fluctuations affecting module operation by verifying voltage levels and inspecting power distribution. Address configuration errors within the PLC program that prevent proper module initialization and data exchange. Replace damaged terminal blocks or connectors to ensure secure and reliable signal transmission.
