Product Description
The Allen-Bradley 2098-DSD-030X is an Ultra 3000 digital Servo drive used to control a partner servo motor for desired motion and position control. It is compatible with servo motors such as MP-Series, 1326AB, F-, H-, N-, and Y-Series, and supports interfacing with SERCOS-enabled devices, including ControlLogix/SoftLogix Platforms.
The 2098-DSD-030X operates with a 100-240VAC rms, Single-phase input voltage at a frequency range of 47-63 Hz, with a main AC input current of 28 Amperes and a maximum inrush current of 50 Amperes. For auxiliary circuits, the nominal input current is 1.0 Ampere for 115VACrms and 0.5 Ampere for 230VACrms, with a maximum inrush current of 47 Amperes for 115VAC(0-pk) and 95 Amperes for 230VAC(0-pk).
This servo drive delivers an output current of 15 A (0-pk) continuous and 30 A (0-pk) intermittent, with a continuous power output of 1.5 kW at 115VAC and 3 kW at 230VAC. It has a Bus capacitance of 2820 μF, an internal shunt resistance of 35 Ω, a shunt on bus voltage of 420V dc, a shunt off bus voltage of 402V dc, and a Bus overvoltage protection of 452V dc.
As part of the Ultra 3000 series, this drive implements control via 3-Phase Sinusoidal, Space Vector Modulated (SVM) commutation, using a Digital PI current regulator with a 125 μs update rate, a Digital PID velocity regulator with a 250 μs update rate, and a Digital PID position regulator with a 1 ms update rate. The drive's Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) frequency is 4 or 8 kHz, with Space Vector Modulation (SVM) and a velocity loop bandwidth of 300 Hz.
The drive is designed with an internal shunt, rated for 420V DC ON and 402V DC OFF, with an internal resistance of 35 Ohms and a 4.5kW shunt power output. It also requires a 30 Ohms (-0/+5%) external shunt with a 6kW power rating. The 2098-DSD-030X has a 3kW output power at 230V AC and an energy absorption capability of 117 Joules. Its internal circuitry uses 250V AC FNQ-R-30 (Class CC) and LPJ-30SP (Class J) fuses for protection, and when operational, it dissipates 150W (dissipative shunt) of heat.
The 2098-DSD-030X has 8 current sinking 12-24V DC optically isolated digital inputs and 4 current sourcing, optically isolated outputs, along with 1 Normally-Open (N.O.) relay output. It communicates through the RS-232/RS-422/RS-485 port with selectable baud rates from 1200 to 38400 and uses Incremental, Absolute, Sine/Cosine, and Intelligent motor feedback encoders with input frequencies of 100 kHz (Sine/Cosine Input) and 2.5 MHz (TTL Input) per channel.
The 2098-DSD-030X's operating temperature range is 0-55° C with a 5-95% non-condensing relative humidity range, and it can be installed at an altitude of 1500m without de-rating. The 2098-DSD-030X weighs 6.2kg (13.6lbs) and has dimensions of 243.84mm x 50.8mm x 91.44mm (9.6in x 2.0in x 3.6in).
