Product Description

The Allen-Bradley 2098-DSD-150 is a 3-phase 230V AC input Analog Servo Drive from the high-performance and versatile Bulletin 2098 Ultra3000 Drive Systems series. It operates with an input frequency of 47-63 Hz and has a main AC input current of 46 A nominal rms and 68 A at zero-peak maximum inrush. A brief period of inrush current occurs during power initialization, necessitating a dual element time delay or slow blow fuse. For UL applications, it is compatible with a Class J LPJ-60SP Bussmann Fuse.

This 65A/150A 2098-DSD-150 Ultra3000 Analog Drive offers functional flexibility with its four current sourcing outputs and eight current sinking inputs, all of which are general purpose and user-selectable. It includes one normally-open output relay rated at 30V DC max 1 A max. The front panel is equipped with standard high-density D-shell female connectors for motor power, AC input power, and passive shunt resistor connections. The 2098-DSD-150 also features a CN3 9-pin serial port connector, a CN2 15-pin motor feedback connector, and a CN1 44-pin user I/O connector. For simplified monitoring and troubleshooting, it provides logic power status and seven-segment status indicators.

The 2098-DSD-150 employs Smart Motor Technology, which automatically detects the specific connected motor and its parameters. This feature protects against incorrect motor replacements and significantly reduces commissioning time.

Is Your Device Showing These Signs?

The Allen Bradley 2098-DSD-150 servo drive commonly experiences issues related to power supply failures, resulting in operational downtime. Resolve communication errors stemming from corrupted firmware or incorrect network configurations by reflashing the firmware and verifying Ethernet/IP settings. Address motor performance degradation due to faulty encoder feedback; replace the encoder or repair wiring. Rectify overheating problems caused by inadequate cooling or excessive load; ensure proper ventilation and verify motor load parameters. Correct drive tripping due to overcurrent faults; inspect motor windings for shorts and adjust current limits.
