The Allen-Bradley 2098-DSD-HV030-SE is an Ultra 3000 Digital Servo Drive Module with a Fiber Optic SERCOS command interface. This module is suitable for various motion control applications and architectures and utilizes two SERCOS fiber-optic cables. The AC input voltage range for this module is 230-480V AC (Three-Phase), with an AC input frequency of 47-63 Hz. It has a Bus capacitance of 470 µF and an internal shunt resistance of 120 Ohms. The SERCOS communication rates supported by this module are 4 and 8 Mbps, with node addresses ranging from 01 to 99.

As a Digital Servo Drive (DSD) by Allen-Bradley, this electronic, programmable device is part of the Ultra 3000 Series of Kinetix Motion Control systems. This servo drive module provides an interface for motion control commands and a direct connection to the servo motor, enabling a digitally controlled closed-loop motion control system.
The 2098-DSD-HV030-SE becomes operational when supplied with a 3-phase input voltage of 230 Volts AC - 480 Volts AC, at an input frequency of 47-63 Hertz. It has separate input current ratings for its main and auxiliary circuitry. The main circuitry requires 4 Amperes @ 460 Volts AC rms, nominal, with a maximum inrush current of 460 Volts AC rms. The 2098-DSD-HV030-SE is equipped with various terminal strips and connection interfaces on its front panel. The TB1 terminal strip is used for terminating DC+ and DC- voltages, 3-Phase motor power connections, AC input power connections, and auxiliary power connections. A cable shield clamp is located below this terminal strip for securing the shield cable. The TB2 terminal strip is used for installing external passive shunt components. The drive also has a CN1 interface with terminals for the Normally Open (N.O.) contacts, which can be used to energize an external Start/Stop circuit.
