Product Description
The Allen-Bradley 5094-RTB3I is an isolated removable terminal block designed for the Flex 5000 machine control system. It connects to the Flex 5000 I/O terminal base assembly (required for wiring Flex 5000 I/O modules) and features channel isolation for enhanced safety. This terminal block supports a maximum I/O current of 2.0 Amps at 32V DC and a Sensor Actuator current of 10 Amps at 18-32V DC. It provides 250V AC continuous isolation between I/O channels/chassis and sensor actuator/chassis, and accommodates 22-14 AWG solid or stranded copper wire with a terminal screw torque of 3.5 lb-in. The 5094-RTB3I includes key switches for I/O module positioning, an I/O edge connector for proper installation, and I/O terminal strips for wiring connections. Shield bar accessories are required when using analog I/O or high-speed counter modules.
Is Your Device Showing These Signs?
The Allen Bradley 5094-RTB3I terminal base frequently experiences issues related to field wiring terminations, causing intermittent signal loss or complete I/O module failure. Technicians address loose connections, corrosion buildup on terminal blocks, and improper wire gauge usage, all of which disrupt signal integrity. Over-torquing terminal screws damages the plastic housing, requiring replacement. Noise from improper grounding affects analog input accuracy, necessitating improved grounding techniques and shielded cabling. Firmware incompatibility between the I/O module and the CompactLogix PLC results in communication errors, requiring firmware updates or module replacement.
Technical specifications
The Allen-Bradley 5094-RTB3I is an isolated removable terminal block for the Flex 5000 system. It connects to the I/O terminal base, providing channel isolation and supporting specific current and voltage limits for I/O and sensor/actuator devices. It accepts specific wire gauges and torque settings, includes key switches and connectors for proper installation, and requires shield bars for certain module types.
Our Repair Process for the
5094-RTB3I
Our repair process for the Allen Bradley 5094-RTB3I terminal base begins with a thorough inspection of field wiring terminations to identify loose connections, corrosion, and incorrect wire gauge usage; technicians rectify these issues to restore signal integrity. Terminal screws are tightened to the specified torque to prevent damage to the plastic housing; damaged housings require complete base replacement. Grounding is verified and improved using proper techniques and shielded cabling to eliminate noise interference affecting analog input accuracy. Firmware compatibility between the I/O module and the CompactLogix PLC is confirmed; firmware updates are applied or the module is replaced to resolve communication errors.
