Product Description
The Prosoft Technology MVI56-ADMNET, an inRAx sub-branded module, is a C-programmable interface for Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation ControlLogix processors, enabling custom application development via 10/100 Base-T Ethernet. It allows ControlLogix systems to communicate with Ethernet-enabled devices and host systems using the C programming language, extending functionality beyond default settings and integrating with devices like HMIs. The module features debugging/configuration, application (PRT1/PRT2), Ethernet, and CFG ports, using RH45 to DB-9 M and 6ft RS-232 cables, and is compatible with a single-slot 1756 backplane. It draws 800mA at 5.1V DC and 3mA at 24V DC from the backplane. The MVI56-ADMNET includes LED indicators for status monitoring and adheres to various safety and regulatory standards (CE, GOST-R, etc.). It operates in temperatures from 0-60C and can be stored from -40-85C, with a relative humidity tolerance of 5-95% (non-condensing) and resistance to shock/vibration.
Is Your Device Showing These Signs?
The Allen Bradley MVI56-ADMNET module commonly experiences issues such as corrupted configuration files requiring firmware reflashing, communication failures due to incorrect IP address settings or subnet mask configurations, and backplane communication errors stemming from faulty module seating or damaged connectors. Resolve network connectivity problems by verifying Ethernet cable integrity, checking for IP address conflicts, and confirming proper configuration within the PLC program. Address application layer issues by validating the adapter's configuration parameters, ensuring correct data mapping, and troubleshooting any errors in the Modbus communication protocol. Resolve hardware failures by inspecting the module for physical damage, verifying power supply stability, and replacing the module if necessary.

Our Repair Process for the
MVI56-ADMNET
Our repair process for the Allen Bradley MVI56-ADMNET module begins with addressing network connectivity problems by verifying Ethernet cable integrity, checking for IP address conflicts, and confirming proper configuration within the PLC program. We then resolve application layer issues by validating the adapter's configuration parameters, ensuring correct data mapping, and troubleshooting any errors in the Modbus communication protocol. If the module experiences corrupted configuration files, firmware reflashing is performed. Backplane communication errors are resolved by ensuring proper module seating and inspecting for damaged connectors. Finally, hardware failures are addressed by inspecting the module for physical damage, verifying power supply stability, and replacing the module if necessary.
