The ABB THI86-I5 is a robust, high-performance temperature input module designed for industrial automation systems.   • The ABB THI86-I5 is a high-performance, isolated temperature input module designed for industrial process automation applications. This module accepts eight independent temperature sensor inputs, supporting thermocouples (types J, K, T, E, N, R, S, B, C), RTDs (PT100, PT500, PT1000, Ni100, Ni1000), and resistance measurements, providing accurate and reliable temperature data acquisition. The THI86-I5 features 24-bit analog-to-digital converters for high resolution and precision, with built-in cold junction compensation for thermocouple measurements and lead wire compensation for RTD measurements. It communicates via a standard PROFIBUS DP interface, enabling seamless integration with ABB AC500 PLC systems and other PROFIBUS-compatible devices. The module provides comprehensive diagnostic capabilities, including sensor break detection, over-range/under-range detection, and internal module diagnostics, ensuring system integrity and minimizing downtime. The THI86-I5 operates within a wide temperature range and is designed for harsh industrial environments, meeting stringent EMC and safety standards.
