Product Description

The Allen-Bradley 1394-DCLM is a single-phase DC link and axis module designed to enhance 1394 systems by providing additional load leveling and energy storage, ideal for applications requiring increased capacity, reduced cycle times, or minimized heat loss. It can operate independently or be linked to another module via a DC Link cable. This module features a 32 Amp output current and a 530-680 Volt input voltage, consistent with other single-phase 1394 modules. For proper installation, mount the 1394-DCLM as the right-most module unless a DIM is present, in which case the DIM should be last. Connecting two 1394 power buses using two DCLMs is possible but application-dependent and requires expert implementation; contact Allen-Bradley for guidance. Ensure the power plug is installed when using the 1394-DCLM for energy storage (refer to the manual for location). Always disconnect power before servicing or removing the unit to prevent injury.

  • The 1394-DCLM functions as a DC Link Module and Axis Module simultaneously, primarily for load leveling and energy capacitance (storage) in 1394 systems, offering increased regenerative energy storage, system capacity, reduced cycle time, and reduced resistive heat loss. It operates in a one-phase system with an input voltage of 530 to 680 Volts DC (same as one-phase 1394 modules) and an output current of 32 Amps. Typically mounted as the last (right-most) module in a 1394 system, or with the DIM (Drive Interface Module) as the last module if both are present, it can function alone or be connected to another DCLM using a DC Link cable. Two 1394 power buses can be connected by two DCLMs in an application-specific configuration requiring consultation with an Allen-Bradley sales representative. Power plug installation is required for energy storage applications; refer to the product manual for the power plug location. Disconnect all power before repairing or removing the unit to avoid injury.
