Product Description

The Allen-Bradley 1398-DDM-019X ULTRA 100 is a single-axis digital servo drive designed for AC 115/230VAC operation, requiring an external 12-24VDC I/O logic power supply. Configured for indexing with an absolute encoder and homing, it features a +/- 10V analog interface for position, velocity, or torque control. It includes four fixed and six programmable optically isolated digital I/Os (configurable for dedicated/user-selectable inputs/outputs), one analog input for current limit, and one analog output for monitoring or torque sharing. Serial communication is supported via RS232 and four-wire RS485 (1,200-19,200 baud) for multi-drive addressing (up to 32 drives). It requires a minimum of 4MB RAM and is compatible with Microsoft Version 3. The drive utilizes microcontrollers for digital velocity, current, and position regulation, interfacing through digital and analog I/Os. It has two analog inputs (Current Limit and Command) and a single analog output (Analog 1). Input voltage is 100-240VAC (47-63Hz) with a peak input current of 30A. It offers a 2.5kW power output (peaking at 5.5kW) at 240VAC, with a 50W power dissipation (NEMA 12 enclosure). Operational specifications include a temperature range of 0-50C, 5-95% non-condensing humidity, and optimal function up to 1500m altitude. It weighs 2.0kg and measures 198.12 x 97.30 x 146.05mm.

Is Your Device Showing These Signs?

The Allen Bradley 1398-DDM-019X servo drive commonly experiences issues such as blown power modules due to overcurrent faults, resolver feedback errors causing erratic motor behavior, and communication failures stemming from corrupted firmware or damaged communication ports. Troubleshooting often reveals DC bus overvoltage conditions, IGBT failures within the inverter section, and issues with the drive's internal power supply impacting control circuitry. Replacement of damaged components, firmware reflashing, and thorough inspection of wiring connections are necessary corrective actions.
