Product Description

The Allen-Bradley 150-A850JCD, an 850 Amp solid-state smart motor controller from the SMC-50 series, operates on 200-600 VAC and controls 10-800 HP motors. Housed in a NEMA Type 12 enclosure for external protection, it offers scalability, energy savings through simple start/stop controls, and advanced motor protection against overcurrents and overvoltages. Programmability allows customized operation for resistive loads, with standard full voltage, soft start, and current limit start modes. Optional features include pump control, braking, and Accu-Stop. Wiring can be done with or without a motor starter using rotary digital and DIP switches. An energy saver function activates during light or no-load conditions. Operation should be limited to temperatures below 50C to prevent damage, with a built-in thermostat for temperature control, stall protection, auxiliary contact for instantaneous operations, and LED indicators for operational status.

Is Your Device Showing These Signs?

The Allen Bradley 150-A850JCD commonly experiences issues related to contact wear, leading to operational failures. Over time, the contacts degrade due to repetitive switching and arcing, causing increased resistance and eventual failure to conduct current. Troubleshooting often reveals thermal overload relay trips stemming from motor inrush current or sustained overcurrent conditions. Replacement of worn contacts and proper adjustment of the overload settings are necessary to restore optimal performance and prevent future motor protection faults. Verify proper coil voltage and examine for signs of physical damage or corrosion affecting the device's functionality.

Our Repair Process for the

150-A850JCD

Our repair process for the Allen Bradley 150-A850JCD begins with a thorough inspection for contact wear, a common cause of operational failures in this model. Technicians assess the contacts' condition, noting any degradation from repetitive switching and arcing. If contact wear is evident, replacement is performed to eliminate increased resistance and ensure proper current conduction. The thermal overload relay is examined for trips caused by motor inrush or sustained overcurrent; overload settings are adjusted to prevent future motor protection faults. Coil voltage is verified, and the device is scrutinized for physical damage or corrosion that could affect its functionality. This comprehensive approach guarantees restoration of optimal performance and prevents future issues.
