Product Description

The Allen-Bradley 150-C30NBD and 150-C37NBD are compact, space-saving Smart Motor Controllers (SMCs) from the bulletin 150 Low Voltage Soft Starter line, offering true 3-Phase control for motors in the 3-480A range. The 150-C30NBD includes overload protection, integral bypass, and motor/system diagnostics, and is certified by cULus, CSA, CE, and CCC, suitable for IE3 motors and compliant with CSA, EN/IEC, and UL standards. Its front panel features a reset button, power output dial, and status LEDs; terminal connections for L1/L2/L3 (top) and T1/T2/T3 (bottom), plus auxiliary contacts for overload/fault indication (97/98) and user-programmable functions (13/14). The 150-C37NBD (37A, 200-480V AC) provides soft-start, current limit start (150-450%), selectable kickstart (up to 450% for 0.5-1.5s), and soft-stop modes. It has a 100-240V AC control circuit and a 200-480V AC power circuit with Category III overvoltage protection. It includes auxiliary inputs and control circuits with specified voltage and contact ratings, and requires fusing/circuit breakers for fault protection. Operating within -5-55C and 5-95% humidity, it's IP2X rated, certified by CCC, CE, CSA, and cUL-us, meets EN/IEC, UL, and CSA standards, and measures 44.8mm x 139.7mm x 100mm, offering Delta Compatibility.

Is Your Device Showing These Signs?

The Allen Bradley 150-C37NBD commonly experiences issues such as failed overload relays, resulting in motor protection faults and production downtime. Contactor coil burnout is a frequent problem, preventing proper circuit closure and motor starting. Inspect auxiliary contacts for wear or damage, as these degrade signal integrity and control reliability. Diagnose and replace the entire unit if thermal overloads trip repeatedly despite proper current settings, or if the main contacts exhibit excessive arcing and welding. Verify proper voltage supply to the coil, and ensure the device is free from environmental contaminants that accelerate degradation.

Our Repair Process for the

150-C37NBD

Our repair process for the Allen Bradley 150-C37NBD begins with a thorough inspection of the overload relays for failure, addressing motor protection faults and production downtime. We then examine the contactor coil for burnout, which prevents circuit closure and motor starting. Auxiliary contacts are inspected for wear or damage that degrades signal integrity and control reliability. If thermal overloads trip repeatedly despite correct current settings, or if main contacts show excessive arcing and welding, the entire unit is diagnosed for replacement. The voltage supply to the coil is verified, and the device is checked for environmental contaminants that accelerate degradation.
