Product Description
The Allen-Bradley 150-C3NCR is a compact (12.6 x 5.9 x 8 inches, 12.6 lbs), open-enclosure, 3-wire SMC-3 Smart Motor Controller designed for 3-phase motors (200-600V AC, 50-60 Hz) with Delta compatibility. It features built-in electronic overload protection per phase, configurable auxiliary contacts (normal or up-to-speed), and a front-mounted rotary pot for convenient overload FLC settings. DIP switches allow adjustment of auxiliary contact characteristics, start/stop profile, and overload trip class (OFF, 10, 15, 20) with manual or automatic reset. An LED display indicates OFF, RUN, and FAULT status. It offers selectable start times (2-30 seconds), kick start (0-1.5 seconds at 450% FLA), soft stop (OFF, 0-300% of start time), initial torque (0-65% locked rotor torque), and current limit (150-450% FLA). Fault detection includes phase loss/imbalance, selectable phase reversal, shorted SCRs, and overtemperature. Operating modes include soft start, kick start, soft stop, and current limit start, suitable for applications like chillers, fans, lifts, pumps, conveyors, and compressors. Specifications include a 3A current rating, 24V AC/DC control power, 0-50C operating temperature, -25-85C storage temperature, 1g operating vibration, 2.5g non-operating vibration, 15g operating shock, 30g non-operating shock, 1-3A motor current range, 0.75-2 Hp (60 Hz), and 1.5 kW (50 Hz) maximum power.
Is Your Device Showing These Signs?
The Allen Bradley 150-C3NCR commonly presents issues such as thermal overload relay tripping due to excessive current draw, often traced to motor winding faults or incorrect FLA settings. Contact wear on the auxiliary contacts and main power poles leads to operational failures, necessitating contactor replacement or refurbishment. Coil burnout, resulting from voltage fluctuations or prolonged energization, requires coil replacement to restore proper magnetic field generation for armature movement. Verify proper torque on terminal connections to prevent arcing and overheating, which degrades insulation and compromises circuit integrity. Diagnose and rectify any instances of mechanical binding within the contactor assembly, ensuring free movement of the armature and preventing incomplete contact closure.
