Product Description
The Allen-Bradley 150-F1250NCA SMC Flex Smart Motor Controller (Bulletin 150) is a solid-state, microprocessor-controlled soft starter for standard motors, designed for use with an open enclosure. It offers the highest power in the 150 series (1250A, 1000Hp @ 460VAC) and accepts an input voltage of 200-575VAC (3-phase, 50-60Hz) with a 230-240VAC control voltage. Programmable contacts (1NO/1NC) and multiple starting modes (soft start/stop, full voltage, kickstart, current limit, dual ramp, preset slow speed, linear speed acceleration) enable resistive load control. Comprehensive protection and diagnostics cover power loss, voltage issues, line faults, excessive starts, phase reversal, voltage anomalies, temperature, stalls, jams, open gate, overload/underload, and communication faults. Integrated current transformers provide metering for kW, kWh, Amps, Volts, elapsed time, power factor, and motor thermal capacity. A mechanical run contactor on each phase minimizes heat during operation. Parameters are organized in a three-level menu with programming groups. The controller measures 1041.1 x 596.9 x 346.2 mm (41.0 x 23.5 x 13.63 in), weighs approximately 224 kg (495 lbs), and operates between -5 and 50C (23 to 122F).
Is Your Device Showing These Signs?
The Allen Bradley 150-F1250NCA commonly experiences issues related to failed solid-state overload relays, causing nuisance tripping or failure to start motors. Technicians frequently address problems with the internal CTs (current transformers) leading to inaccurate current sensing and protection. Contactor coil burnout is a typical failure mode, preventing proper contact closure and motor operation. Auxiliary contact block malfunctions are also observed, disrupting control circuit functionality. Replacement of worn or damaged power poles is necessary to maintain proper current carrying capacity and prevent arcing.
