Product Description

The Allen-Bradley 150-F780NBE is a robust, solid-state motor controller with a built-in circuit breaker and an IP65 (Type 4/12) rated enclosure. It minimizes starting torque surges common in across-the-line starting using soft start and soft stop features, which provide smooth, stepless acceleration and deceleration, reducing wear on connected mechanical components and preventing load shifting. It also offers a selectable kickstart for high-friction loads. Designed for low-induction motors, the 150-F780NBE enables faster, simpler starts and reduces downtime from vibration. Its dual ramp start caters to varying loads, 2-speed applications, and reversing, while a current limit start feature controls in-rush current during acceleration. Rated at 25A and 15 HP at 460V AC (400/460V AC rated voltage), the controller accepts a 400-460V AC, 3-phase input at 50/60 Hz and uses a 120V AC control voltage. Preset slow speeds provide two jog speeds for easy alignment and setup in both forward and reverse directions, eliminating the need for a reversing contactor.

Is Your Device Showing These Signs?

The Allen Bradley 150-F780NBE SMC Flex Smart Motor Controller commonly experiences issues related to communication faults on the EtherNet/IP network, often stemming from incorrect IP address configurations or damaged communication cables. Overload faults are frequent due to improper motor FLA settings or excessive load demands, necessitating adjustments to the overload protection parameters. Short circuits in the motor or wiring can trigger immediate trip faults, requiring thorough inspection and repair of the motor and associated wiring. Firmware corruption can lead to erratic behavior; a firmware update resolves this. Finally, nuisance tripping occurs because of sensitivity to voltage fluctuations or electrical noise, which requires adjustments to the undervoltage and overvoltage trip settings.
