Product Description

The Allen-Bradley 150-SB2NUR is a 110A, open-type, solid-state SMC-50 smart motor controller for 200-690V AC three-phase motors (50/60 Hz). It supports Wye-Delta and standard three-phase squirrel cage induction motors, operating with a 24V DC control voltage (2 inputs, 2 relay outputs). For line-connected motors at 500 kW/575 HP utilization voltage, it handles 37-110A motor current (25-75 kW at 50 Hz, 40-100 HP at 60 Hz). For Delta-connected motors at the same voltage, it manages 65-190A motor current (50-132 kW at 50 Hz, 75-150 HP at 60 Hz). Features include 3 expansion ports, local serial communication (4 DPI ports), conformal-coated PCBs, a reset/test button, LED status indicator, and nine starting modes (dual ramp, linear speed, preset slow speed, torque control, selectable kickstart, pump control, current limit, full voltage, soft start). Safety features encompass voltage/current sensing per phase, undervoltage/overvoltage, voltage unbalance, continuous SCR control, stall, underload, jam, excessive starts, and external bypass protection.

Is Your Device Showing These Signs?

The Allen Bradley 150-SB2NUR SMC Flex Smart Motor Controller commonly experiences issues such as communication failures on the EtherNet/IP network, often traced to incorrect IP address configuration or damaged RJ45 connectors. Overload faults are frequent, stemming from improper motor FLA settings, excessive load demands, or thermal overload relay malfunctions. Short circuit trips indicate wiring insulation breakdown, component failure within the motor, or incorrect short circuit protection settings. Firmware corruption during updates necessitates a forced firmware reload via BootP. Inconsistent performance arises from parameter misconfiguration within the SMC Flex software, demanding a thorough review and adjustment of acceleration, deceleration, and current limit parameters.

Our Repair Process for the

150-SB2NUR

Our repair process for the Allen Bradley 150-SB2NUR SMC Flex Smart Motor Controller begins with a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation to pinpoint the root cause of the reported issue, be it communication failures, overload faults, short circuit trips, firmware corruption, or inconsistent performance. Communication failures on the EtherNet/IP network are addressed by verifying and correcting IP address configurations and replacing damaged RJ45 connectors. Overload faults necessitate a review and adjustment of motor FLA settings, load demands, and a replacement of malfunctioning thermal overload relays. Short circuit trips require a thorough inspection of wiring insulation, motor components, and short circuit protection settings, with faulty components replaced immediately. Firmware corruption demands a forced firmware reload via BootP. Inconsistent performance is resolved through a meticulous review and adjustment of acceleration, deceleration, and current limit parameters within the SMC Flex software.
