Product Description
The Allen-Bradley 1756-L81ES is a GuardLogix 5580 safety controller supporting 31 standard and 1 safety task, with 1000 programs per task. It features a USB 2.0 port (12 Mbps) and a 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet port, and supports optional communication modules like ControlNet and DeviceNet. It handles up to 100 Ethernet/IP nodes and uses ladder diagram, structured text, function block diagram, and sequential function chart programming languages. It has 3 MB user and 1.5 MB safety memory, supports up to 128,000 digital and 4000 analog I/Os (total 128,000 I/O), and includes 2 GB nonvolatile memory. It draws 5 mA at 1.2V DC and 1.2 A at 1.5V DC, dissipates 6.2 W, weighs approximately 0.394 kg, and requires one chassis slot. Compatible chassis include 1756-A4, 1756-A4K, 1756-A7, 1756-A7K, 1756-A10, 1756-A10K, 1756-A13, 1756-A13K, 1756-A17, and 1756-A17 K Series B and Series C, with an operating temperature range of 0-60C. It offers an integrated user memory of 3 MB and Safety memory of 1.5 MB, and a maximum I/O capacity of 128,000. Unlike ControlLogix controllers, this GuardLogix controller has an integral and removable memory of 1756-SD2, which is the only compatible memory for this controller module. This module supports a wider variety of Chassis and Power Supply modules. This module supports implementation of redundancy with the use of ControlLogix redundancy modules. It has an intuitive diagnostic display that provides a textual description of the modules status. With the use of this controller, Safety Instrumentation Level (SIL) 2 is achieved. This module supports mix of standard ControlLogix and Safety I/O and may also implement topologies that a standard ControlLogix can support.
Is Your Device Showing These Signs?
The Allen Bradley 1756-L81ES ControlLogix controller commonly experiences issues such as corrupted firmware requiring a forced firmware update via BOOTP/DHCP, power supply failures leading to system downtime, memory module errors causing program faults, communication network disruptions on EtherNet/IP resulting from incorrect IP addressing or faulty cabling, and backplane connectivity problems due to damaged pins or corrosion. Resolve these issues through firmware reflashing, power supply replacement, memory module diagnostics and replacement, network configuration verification, and backplane inspection and repair. Address these promptly to maintain optimal PLC performance and prevent process interruptions.
