Product Description

The Allen-Bradley 1756-L84EXT ControlLogix-XT Controller, part of the ControlLogix-XT 5580 series, offers 20 MB of user memory and optional 2 GB nonvolatile memory. It operates within a wide temperature range (-25 to 70C operating, -40 to 85C non-operating) and tolerates up to 70C ambient air without condensation. Key specs include a 5 mA draw at 1.2V DC and 1.2 A at 5.1V DC, 6.2W power dissipation, 21.2 BTU/hr thermal dissipation, and 50V continuous isolation (tested to 1000V AC for 60 seconds) for USB/Ethernet ports to backplane and each other. Weighing approximately 0.394 kg, it meets CE, CSA, IECEx, KC, RCM, Ex, FM, cULus, and EAC standards, tolerates 5-95% non-condensing humidity, and withstands 30 G shock and 2 G vibration (10-500 Hz). It features an open-style enclosure, uses Cat 3 wire for USB and Cat 2 for Ethernet, and supports sequential function chart, relay ladder logic, function block diagram, and structured text programming languages.

Is Your Device Showing These Signs?

The Allen Bradley 1756-L84EXT ControlLogix controller commonly requires repair due to capacitor degradation within the power supply, leading to voltage instability and operational failures. Corrupted firmware necessitates reflashing the controller's memory to restore proper functionality. Communication errors on the EtherNet/IP port are resolved through port replacement or repair of damaged transceivers. Backplane connector damage results in intermittent connectivity and requires connector replacement to ensure reliable module communication. Overheating due to inadequate cooling causes component stress, mandating thermal paste replacement and fan maintenance to prevent premature failure.
