Product Description
The Allen Bradley 1771-OC DC Output Driver Module operates between 0 and 60C and should be stored between -40 and 85C, with a noncondensing relative humidity of 5-95%. It features an output current rating of 1.5A per output, a maximum OFF-State leakage current of 1mA per output, and a maximum ON-State voltage drop of 2V DC. The module withstands 1500V AC for 60 seconds and has ESD immunity of 4kV contact and 8kV air discharge. It dissipates 0.9-16.9W of power, with a thermal dissipation of 3.0-57.6 BTU/hour. The 1771-OC requires a maximum backplane current of 165mA at 5V DC and an input voltage of 52-53V DC. When installing, align the keying bands on the backplane connector with the slot, using positions 4-6 and 20-22. Any chassis I/O connector can be used except the leftmost one, which is reserved for an adapter or processor module.
Is Your Device Showing These Signs?
The Allen Bradley 1771-OC output module commonly experiences failures due to blown output fuses, resulting in a loss of signal to field devices. Technicians often address issues stemming from short circuits in connected actuators or solenoids, which overload the module's outputs. Corrosion on the edge connector pins impedes proper communication with the PLC backplane, necessitating cleaning or replacement. Overheating due to inadequate ventilation or excessive load causes component degradation, leading to erratic or non-functional outputs. Damaged Triacs or other internal components require replacement to restore proper output switching functionality.
