The Allen-Bradley 1785-KA5P is a panel-mounted DH+/DH-485 communication adapter module that enables communication between devices on a DH+ network (a baseband LAN supporting peer-to-peer communication with up to 64 uniquely addressed nodes) and devices on an RS-485 Data Highway Plus (DH+) network. Compatible with Allen-Bradley PLCs, it facilitates uploading/downloading SLC 500 programs via DH+ devices and allows message exchange between PLC and SLC processors. The module features a 3-pin phoenix connector for Data Highway Plus, a 9-Pin D-shell port, an 8-Pin modular connector port, a 6-Pin phoenix connector, and an external 5V DC power connector. It supports baud rates from 300 to 19,200, allows rate reservation, and offers remote programming capabilities. Rack-mountable and easily configurable, the 1785-KA5P communicates at 57,600 bits per second using a token passing process for reliable data transport, operates at 5V DC with 2 Amps of current, and functions in ambient temperatures from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius. It utilizes a DH/DH+ connector cable.
