Product Description

The Allen Bradley 1794-IE8K is a conformal-coated, 8-point, single-ended Flex analog input/output module designed for rack-based systems and operating on 24V DC. This 3-Watt module supports terminal blocks 1794-TB2, 1794-TB3S, and 1794-TB3S, and offers screw or DIN rail mounting options. It uses block transfer reads (BTR) and writes (BTW) via ladder programming for signal interfacing, allowing compatibility with similarly configured modules. Featuring an open-style enclosure, process identification indicator, and 3 key switch positions, it operates between 0 and 55 degrees Celsius. The module is internally calibrated, storing instructions in integer format, and allows individual configuration of each of its 8 inputs. To prevent damage or injury, remove field-side power before installation and limit cable length to 33 feet.

Is Your Device Showing These Signs?

The Allen Bradley 1794-IE8K FLEX I/O analog input module commonly experiences issues related to wiring terminations, resulting in signal noise and inaccurate readings. Calibration drift is a frequent problem, causing deviations from expected values and requiring recalibration procedures. Corrupted configuration data within the module's memory leads to communication faults and operational errors, necessitating a firmware update or configuration reset. Component failure, such as degradation of the analog-to-digital converter (ADC) or input protection circuitry, causes module malfunction and requires component-level repair or module replacement. Environmental factors like excessive temperature or humidity accelerate component degradation and contribute to premature failure.

Our Repair Process for the

1794-IE8K

Our repair process for the Allen Bradley 1794-IE8K FLEX I/O analog input module begins with a thorough inspection of wiring terminations to eliminate signal noise and ensure accurate readings. Next, a complete recalibration is performed to correct any deviations from expected values. If communication faults or operational errors are present, the module undergoes a firmware update or configuration reset to rectify corrupted configuration data. Suspected component failures, such as ADC or input protection circuitry degradation, are addressed through component-level repair or complete module replacement. Finally, the module is assessed for environmental damage, and protective measures are implemented to prevent future failures from temperature or humidity.
