Product Description
The Allen-Bradley 20-750-CNETC is an optional communication module for PowerFlex 750 drives, enabling ControlNet connectivity. It communicates with the drive via DPI at 500 kbps and supports ControlNet at a fixed 5 Mbps using a BNC-connected coaxial cable. The module handles various connection types (16 CP, 32 unconnected, unlimited input-only I/O, 1 listen-only I/O, up to 3 redundant-owner I/O, and 1 exclusive-owner I/O), with a minimum 5ms requested packet interval and a maximum of 400 I/O packets per second. It draws 250mA at 14V DC, weighs 62g, and measures 2.7 x 5.9 x 1 inches. Operating temperatures range from -10 to 50C, with storage from -40 to 85C. The module features status indicators, node address switches, and redundant coax receptacles. Before installation, consult the ControlNet coax media guide, verify equipment availability, configure the node address, connect the module to the drive and network, and then apply power.
Is Your Device Showing These Signs?
The Allen Bradley 20-750-CNETC commonly experiences communication failures due to corrupted firmware, necessitating a firmware update or re-flash. Ethernet connectivity problems arise from incorrect IP address configurations, subnet mask issues, or physical layer faults such as damaged RJ45 connectors and cabling. Power supply degradation leads to intermittent operation or complete failure, requiring power supply replacement. Parameter corruption within the drive causes erratic motor behavior, fixed through parameter resets and reconfiguration. Overheating due to inadequate cooling or excessive ambient temperatures triggers thermal overloads, resolved by improving ventilation and reducing operating temperature.
Technical specifications
The Allen-Bradley 20-750-CNETC is a ControlNet communication module for PowerFlex 750 drives. It allows the drive to connect to a ControlNet network at 5 Mbps via coaxial cable, communicating with the drive itself at 500 kbps. It supports various connection types and I/O configurations, has specific packet interval and throughput limitations, and operates within defined power, size, and temperature parameters. Installation requires consulting the ControlNet media guide, verifying equipment, configuring the node address, and connecting the module before powering up.
Our Repair Process for the
20-750-CNETC
Our repair process for the Allen Bradley 20-750-CNETC begins with a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation to pinpoint the failure. Communication failures are addressed by updating or re-flashing the firmware. Ethernet connectivity problems are resolved through verification and correction of IP address configurations, subnet mask settings, and physical layer components, including RJ45 connectors and cabling. Power supply degradation necessitates complete power supply replacement. Parameter corruption is rectified through parameter resets and complete reconfiguration. Overheating issues are resolved by improving ventilation and reducing the ambient operating temperature to prevent thermal overloads.
