Product Description

The Allen-Bradley 2097-V31PR2 is a Kinetix 300 Ethernet/IP indexing servo drive designed for interfacing with servo motors to achieve linear and rotary motion control, supporting motion over Ethernet/IP and indexing functions. This single-phase, cost-effective drive operates with a selectable input voltage of 120/240 VAC (50-60 Hz), offering a continuous output current of 5.7 Amperes. It features twelve (12) configurable inputs, arranged in three groups of four with dedicated commons (ACOM, BCOM, CCOM), for external signals from devices like limit switches, push buttons, manual switches, and proximity sensors, enabling functions such as abort/start Homing and Index, fault reset, home sensor, and index selection. Through its Ethernet/IP interface, supporting 10/100 Mbps transmission rates over a maximum of 100 m per segment, the 2097-V31PR2 can be integrated with CompactLogix and ControlLogix controllers that support motion over Ethernet/IP. Additionally, it provides hardwired Safe-Torque Off (STO) functionality, certified for safety applications up to ISO 13849-1 performance level d (PLd) safety category 3, accessible via a dedicated STO connector on the front panel.

This Allen-Bradley Kinetix 300 Ethernet/IP Indexing Servo Drive also offers selectable single-phase input voltage ranges of 70-132V and 80-264V, with nominal voltages of 120V (Doubler mode) and 240V at an input frequency of 48-62Hz. It has a selectable input current of 15A (nominal) at 120V and 8.6A at 240V, with surge currents of 1.15A and 1.1A respectively. The drive includes a 20-26V DC backup control voltage with a 500mA backup current and a 30A maximum surge, and it is designed without an AC line filter. It provides a continuous output current of 4.0 A (rms) and 5.7 A (0-pk), peaking at 12 A (rms), with a continuous power output of 0.8 kW at 240V AC. The 2097-V31PR2 has an internal shunt with 390-375V DC ON/OFF voltage, 430V DC overvoltage protection, and a 100,000 A RMS symmetrical short circuit limit. It may require optional accessories like an I/O terminal expansion block, memory module and programmer, and a 40 Ohms, 3.8KW external shunt resistor. It is protected by a 20A KTK-R-20 Bussman fuse for 120V AC, and short circuit protection is available via 120V AC-rated (1492-SP1D200) and fully-rated (140M-F8E-C20) circuit breakers. It also utilizes 120V and 240V AC contactors and may need a 750VA, 460V AC external transformer with a 20-240V AC output. The drive operates within a temperature range of 0 to 40 °C at 5 to 95% non-condensing relative humidity, with a maximum installation height of 1500m without de-rating. It weighs 1.5Kg and has dimensions of 238mm x 185mm x 68.0mm.

Is Your Device Showing These Signs?

The Allen Bradley 2097-V31PR2 servo drive commonly experiences issues related to power supply failures, resulting in operational downtime. Resolve communication errors stemming from corrupted firmware or incorrect Ethernet/IP configuration. Address motor performance degradation due to faulty IGBTs or resolver feedback problems. Rectify overcurrent faults caused by short circuits in the motor windings or incorrect drive parameters. Replace damaged capacitors and ensure proper heat sink functionality to prevent thermal overloads.
