Product Description

The Allen-Bradley 2098-DSD-010 is an Ultra 3000 Digital Servo Drive, capable of handling both simple standalone indexing applications and complex multi-axis integrated motion control. This drive operates with an input voltage of 100-240VAC rms, 1-Phase, at a frequency of 47-63 Hz. It delivers a continuous output power of 1kW, with a continuous output current of 5A and an intermittent output current of 15A.

The 2098-DSD-010 Digital Servo Drive includes eight selectable general-purpose inputs, four selectable general-purpose outputs, and a relay output. It also has a single serial communication port supporting RS232 and RS485 communication standards. The drive offers embedded support for multi-turn absolute encoders and an option for an external logic power supply, which helps maintain actuator position during power loss.

It's important to note that the Ultra 3000 Digital Servo Drive does not comply with the European Union (2011/65/EU) RoHS directive, which aims to restrict the use of hazardous substances. Consequently, this drive cannot be shipped or used in applications requiring RoHS compliance.

Other electrical specifications of the 2098-DSD-010 include a nominal AC input current of 9 A and a maximum inrush current of 100A for Series A and B drives, and 20 A for Series C drives. It provides a continuous output power of 0.5 kW at 115V ac input and 1.0 kW at 230V ac input. This module does not have internal shunt resistors. It has a bus capacitance of 1880 μF, an energy absorption capability of 125 J at 115VAC and 51J at 230VAC, and a bus overvoltage detection threshold of 400V dc.

The 230V AC 2098-DSD-010 Digital Drive features connections for motor power and AC input, as well as DC bus connections for an active shunt resistor kit. It also has logic power connections and seven-segment status indicators to aid in troubleshooting. The drive includes a high-density female D-sub CN1 44-pin user I/O connector, a CN2 15-pin motor feedback connector, and a CN3 9-pin serial port connector. Its analog input for COMMAND is rated at 14-bit A/D, ±10V, and for ILIMIT at 10-bit A/D, 0 to 10V. The analog output is rated at ±10V, 8 bits, 2 mA maximum. The 2098-DSD-010 offers an analog command interface and system integration architecture.
