The Allen-Bradley 2098-DSD-020 is an Ultra 3000 Digital Servo Drive, designed for applications ranging from simple indexing and preconfigured drive motions to multi-axis motion control. This drive operates with an input voltage range of 100-240VAC rms, 1-phase, an input current of 18 Amperes, and a frequency range of 47-63 Hz. It has an output voltage range of 100-240VAC and a frequency range of 0-400 Hz. The drive provides a continuous output power of 1kW with a Continuous Output Current of 1A and an Intermittent Output Current of 30A, delivering 1.0 kW at 115VAC input and 2.0 kW at 230VAC input.
The 2098-DSD-020 Digital Servo Drive features eight (8) opto-isolated discrete input channels. These input channels have an ON State Voltage range of 10.8V (minimum) to 26.4V (maximum) and an ON-state current range of 3.0 mA (minimum) to 12.0 mA (maximum). The OFF-State Voltage is relative to IOCOM, and it has a range of -1.0V (minimum) to 2.0V (maximum). The drive also includes a relay output, using Normally Open contacts.
The drive includes tools for testing and commissioning, enabling stand-alone configuration of drive parameters.
The 2098-DSD-020 utilizes Smart Motor Technology to automatically identify connected motors. This functionality helps prevent damage from incorrect motor pairings and reduces commissioning time. To prevent drive damage, it is crucial to follow proper sequencing for input power and the Drive Enable signal. To ensure this, one of the eight inputs should be designated as the Drive Enable, with Input 1 as the default setting. If the drive is faulty or damaged, the Power (PWR) indicator will remain on, while the 7-segment status indicator will be off. The 2098-DSD-020 has a continuous input current of 5 Amps, and when operating, it produces a continuous output current of 2.5 Amps for an output power of 0.5 kW. The peak output current of the 2098-DSD-020 drive is 7.5 Amps. It accepts an input voltage between 100 and 240 Volts AC in single-phase mode (it also has a 3-phase voltage of 75 to 150 Volts AC), with an optional 5 Volts DC external logic power source. Higher input current capacities can lead to higher levels of output current and output power.
