Product Description
The Allen-Bradley 2098-DSD-020-SE Digital Servo Drive is part of the Ultra3000 series. It's designed for high-performance motion control applications and is used in various control architectures, making it a widely-used third-party control system. This drive utilizes the SERCOS interface, which is integrated into the Kinetix motion solution. The 2098-DSD-020-SE uses a fiber-optic ring to interface commands from memory to connected peripherals. It has an ambient temperature rating of 0-55 oC, and its compact size allows for easy transportation.
This Ultra3000 servo drive accommodates a servo motor, a feedback cable, and an optional brake module/shunt module. Operating with a 230V AC input, it generates an output ranging from 115-230V AC (1-phase), at 47-63 Hz. The 2098-DSD-020-SE Ultra 3000 provides a 10 Amperes (0-peak) Continuous Output Current and a 30 Amperes (0-peak) Intermittent Output Current. Supporting speeds up to 8MBps, it uses DeviceNet as its communication medium via dedicated slots such as the RS-232 and RS-485 ports. The drive includes three ports (CN1, CN2, and CN3) for various connection purposes. The 2098-DSD-020-SE assists the Ultra3000 series by simplifying drive indexing and SERCOS interfacing between one or more devices.
Before configuring the 2098-DSD-020-SE, it's essential to ensure proper terminal connections for the transmitting and receiving ends of the device. The 7-segment panel displays the operational status. For example, a flashing green and red indicator indicates that the drive is establishing communication.
