Product Description

The Allen-Bradley 2098-DSD-HV030X is an Ultra 3000i Digital Servo Drive with integrated indexing capability. This servo drive requires a 3-Phase, 230-480V rms voltage supply, operating at a frequency of 47-63 Hz. It is designed to deliver an output power of 1.5 kW at 230VAC and 3.0 kW at 460VAC, with a Continuous Output Current of 7A and an Intermittent Output Current of 14 A.  

This servo drive incorporates the following control features: 3-Phase Sinusoidal, Space Vector Modulated (SVM) commutation; a Digital PI Current Regulator with a 125 µs update rate; a Digital PID Velocity Regulator with a 250 µs update rate; and a Digital PID Position Regulator with feed-forward and a 1 ms update rate. The Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) frequency is 4 or 8 kHz, using space vector modulation, and the maximum Velocity Loop Bandwidth is 300 Hz.

The drive has an embedded Input and Output interface consisting of eight (8) Optically Isolated, Active High, Current Sinking 12-24V Inputs; four (4) Optically Isolated Active High, Current Sourcing 12-24V Outputs; one (1) Normally Open Relay rated for 30V dc Maximum Voltage and 1A Maximum Current; and analog inputs including a 14-bit A/D, ±10V input for COMMAND and a 10-bit A/D, 0 to 10V input for ILIMIT, as well as an analog output of ±10V, 8 bits, 2 mA maximum.

The embedded Serial port of this device supports the RS-232/RS-422/RS-485 standard with selectable communication rates of 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200, and 38400 baud.

This interface includes a Peer control feature, which allows for server-client type control between drives, where one drive acts as the server and another as the client. Operation can be based on the status of a master drive, thus reducing overall network traffic. The 2098-DSD-HV030X servo drive provides bus overvoltage protection for voltages up to 810 Volts DC. The drive is equipped with an RS-232/485 serial port that communicates at variable speeds from 1200 to 38400 bits per second.  

Important to note: The servo drive can only be used in indoor locations and is not waterproof. It must be protected from water sprays and splashes from all directions. The 2098-DSD-HV030X servo drive is equipped with an 800 Volts DC shunt, which creates a low-resistance path for electric current to bypass another point in the circuit, and is primarily used to measure the current flowing through the circuit. The operating frequency of the drive varies between 47 and 63 Hertz.
