The Allen-Bradley 2098-DSD-HV100 is a servo drive from the Ultra3000 series, designed to operate with a 3-phase input supply voltage of 230Vac - 480 VAC and a frequency range of 47-63Hz. All signal connections on this Ultra 3000 drive utilize D-shell connectors. When routing power and signal wiring, it's important to be aware that radiated noise from transformers and other electronic devices can interfere with encoder communication or other sensitive low-voltage signals, potentially causing system faults and communication issues. While the 2098-DSD-HV100 can handle both single-point and multi-point indexing, it's crucial to ensure that the connected motor is load-free and not resisted by external forces. Using an isolation transformer and attaching a chassis ground wire to the neutral connection is recommended to create a solid-earth path for fault conditions and prevent the system from floating. Due to the high current inrush during startup, the 2098-DSD-HV100's input voltage must be carefully considered to avoid damage to the drive and hazards to personnel. This drive has a continuous output current of 23 Amperes and an intermittent output current of 46 Amperes, all within dimensions of 9.54 x 14.2 x 5.97 inches (242.2 x 360.7 x 151.6 mm).
The Allen-Bradley 2098-DSD-HV100 is an Ultra 3000 Digital Servo Drive used to interface with Kinetix Servo motors, such as the MPL and MPF series, as well as servo motors from previous product bulletins and other manufacturers. This servo motor is designed with D-shell type front panel connectors to efficiently accommodate a high density of signal wires, minimizing connection errors.
This servo drive operates with a 3-Phase voltage supply of 230-480 Volts AC at a frequency range of 47-63 Hertz. It delivers a continuous output current of 23 Amperes and an intermittent output current of up to 46 Amperes. The output power rating of the 2098-DSD-HV100 is 5.0 Kilowatts at 230 Volts AC and 10 Kilowatts at 460 Volts AC.
The 2098-DSD-HV100 has an internal shunt resistance of 40 Ω, a shunt-on voltage of 800 Volts DC, and a shunt-off voltage of 750 Volts DC, with a bus overvoltage protection of 810 Volts DC. The drive's energy absorption capability is 22 Joules at 230 Volts AC input with a 230 Volt motor, 194 Joules at 230 Volts AC input with a 460 Volt motor, and 82 Joules at 460 Volts AC input.
It also supports multi-drive connections through RS-485 configuration. For connecting to controllers, the 230 Volt AC input with 460 Volt motor 2098-DSD-HV100 may require a breakout card for I/O and motor commands, as this drive does not have a SERCOS or DeviceNet interface installed.
