The Allen Bradley Ultra5000 2098-IPD-005-DN is the lowest power model in the Ultra5000 family of programmable, high-speed, high-precision, intelligent positioning AC servo drives.
This drive is powered by a 230 Volt AC single-phase input and can drive a 3-phase servo motor with a Continuous Power Output of 500 Watts. This power output is suitable for driving small servo motors typically found in lower-end motion control applications such as packaging, filling, pick and place machines, and small CNC routers.
The Ultra5000 2098-IPD-005-DN offers extensive general-purpose input/output (GPIO) capabilities, including:
16 optically isolated 12 to 24 Volt DC digital inputs
7 optically isolated 12 to 24 Volt DC digital outputs
2 analog inputs
2 analog outputs, each equipped with analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) with a -10 to 10 Volt range and 12-bits of resolution
The 2098-IPD-005-DN can connect to various encoder types, including Absolute, Sine/Cosine, Intelligent, and Incremental Encoders. It supports a maximum frequency of 2.5 MHz per channel for TTL channel signals and 100 kHz for Sine/Cosine Input. The position capture latency is less than 1.0 μs, and position-based calculations can be performed within short timeframes, as low as 125 μs.
DeviceNet connectivity is integrated into the 2098-IPD-005-DN. This allows for online configuration and status monitoring of the drive from any remote controller, Human Machine Interface (HMI), or Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA/DCS) system that supports the DeviceNet communication protocol.
