Product Description

The 2098-IPD-030 is an intelligent positioning drive from the Ultra 5000 product family. It's designed to be paired with a suitable servo motor for applications requiring high positioning accuracy. This drive operates with an AC input voltage range of 100-240Vrms, 1-Phase, and an input frequency of 47-63 Hz. The output characteristics include a power output of 1.5kW at 115 VAC input and 3.0 kW at 230VAC input, while the output current specifications are 30A Output Peak Current and 10A Continuous Output Current.

As a controlgear device, the 2098-IPD-030 must be mounted within an enclosure that meets the requirements of the IEC60529 standard. The enclosure must be installed on a level, rigid, and vertical surface, incorporating shock-limiting components and preventing the ingress of industrial contaminants and particulates. The ambient temperature within the enclosure must be controlled to remain below 55° C (131° F), and climate control devices like fans or heaters may be necessary to maintain this temperature. Adhering to the recommended mounting clearances is also crucial for proper airflow and sufficient working/servicing space. These clearances are 12.7 mm or 0.5 inches on the sides and 50.8 mm or 2.0 inches on the top and bottom.

The 2098-IPD-030 is designed for a continuous output current of 15A and a peak output current of 30A. It features a BUS capacitance of 2820µF, an internal shunt resistance of 35Ω, and shunt ON/OFF voltages of 420V DC and 402V DC, respectively. The internal shunt power is 50W (continuous), peaking at 3.5KW, and the drive is protected by a BUS overvoltage detection at 452V DC. The drive includes 16 optically-isolated 12-24V DC general-purpose digital inputs and 7 optically-isolated 12-24V DC outputs with a maximum current of 50mA. A single normally-open relay (N.O.) output is also provided, rated for 30V DC maximum and 1A maximum current. The drive's overall I/O response time is 100 µs. It utilizes a user memory of 512 Kbps with 100,000-write cycles and a high-speed SRAM/EEPROM non-volatile memory with 32 Kbps capacity. The operational temperature range for this drive is 0-55 °C (32-131 °F) with a relative humidity range of 5-95% (non-condensing), and it operates without de-rating up to an altitude of 1500m (5000ft), beyond which it de-rates by 3% for each 300m above 1500m. The 2098-IPD-030 weighs approximately 6.16Kg (13.58 lbs) and measures 92.7mm x 50.8mm x 20.3mm (3.65in x 2.0in x 0.8in).
