The Allen-Bradley 2706-E43J32 PanelView DataLiner DL40 Plus message display features a vacuum fluorescent display (VFD) showing four lines of text (up to 20 characters each), supporting standard/extended ASCII for languages like German, Spanish, and French, with optional Cyrillic character support. It includes 32 KB RAM for message storage, a NEMA Type 12/13 enclosure, and measures 6.2 x 14.4 x 4.9 inches, viewable from up to 25 feet. Communication is facilitated via RS-232 (with point-to-point slave communication and auto wake-up) and RS-485 ports, along with a battery-backed real-time clock. A parallel port (16 data-input lines, 4 strobe lines, 12V DC internal power supply) allows connection to DL10/DL50 displays for multiple display systems, and an IBM PC keyboard port enables direct keyboard connection. Diagnostic and alarm functions alert to faults, and multiple run modes (message/variable, message/variable slave, bit trigger, message list) are configurable via front-panel push buttons. It operates on 85-264V AC (47-63 Hz), with a maximum 45 VA input at 85V AC, and functions within a 0-60C temperature range (storage: -40-85C) and 5-95% non-condensing relative humidity.
