Product Description
The Allen-Bradley 803-A12W is a heavy-duty, 12-circuit rotating cam limit switch (Style A) with a Type 1 enclosure, weighing approximately 20.4 kg (45 lbs). Factory-modified with an external, 48-tooth adjustment sprocket (0.38-inch pitch diameter) for chain drive synchronization, it allows shaft position adjustments relative to the drive mechanism. Suitable for repetitive motion applications correlating shaft rotation with motion, it operates bidirectionally (clockwise or counterclockwise) with an internal dwell feature and timing adjustments accessible only when powered off and stationary. It features a spring-loaded cam-roller assembly on the contact base, a maximum shaft speed of 150 RPM, 25 Amp normally closed double break contacts, a cam duration range of 14 to 346 degrees, and a standard left shaft extension. Operating temperatures range from -22 to 151F, with non-operating temperatures from -22 to 199F, and typical shaft torques of 0.5 lb-in (valley), 3 lb-in (lobe), and 7 lb-in (cam ramp). It can be mounted on any plane.
Is Your Device Showing These Signs?
The Allen Bradley 803-A12W pushbutton commonly experiences issues such as contact degradation leading to intermittent or failed electrical connections. Operators report problems with the operator head becoming loose or detached due to thread wear or physical impact. Environmental factors cause corrosion on the internal components, affecting performance. The legend plate fades or becomes unreadable, necessitating replacement for clear labeling. Actuator binding occurs due to debris accumulation or mechanical wear, impeding smooth operation.
