Product Description
The Allen-Bradley 803-A44 Rotating Cam Limit Switch is a heavy-duty condition sensor used in applications like waterway gates and mechanical presses, correlating shaft rotation with machinery movement to actuate contacts at user-defined positions. This bidirectional switch, housed in a watertight, oil-tight, and dust-tight enclosure (Type 4 & 13), features a steel base, 0.75-inch diameter shaft extended on the left, iron side plates, 25A cam-actuated contacts, and adjustable cam segments. Dwell and timing adjustments must be made internally while stationary, using angular degree scales. Its dimensions are 274.6 x 301.6 x 173.0 mm (10.81 x 11.88 x 6.81 inches) without the shaft, weighs 17.7 kg (39 lbs), and operates between -30 to 66 degrees Celsius (-22 to 150 degrees Fahrenheit). Production of this model ceased in 2007.
Is Your Device Showing These Signs?
Allen Bradley 803-A44 push buttons commonly exhibit contact degradation, leading to operational failure and intermittent signals. Technicians address issues such as worn or corroded contacts, which cause increased resistance and prevent proper circuit closure. Actuator damage, including broken or sticking plungers, is a frequent problem, hindering the button's mechanical function. Spring fatigue reduces responsiveness and necessitates replacement to restore proper actuation force. Terminal block damage, such as stripped threads or broken insulators, prevents secure wiring connections, leading to system instability.
Technical specifications
The Allen-Bradley 803-A44 is a robust, bidirectional rotating cam limit switch designed for heavy-duty applications requiring precise correlation between shaft rotation and machinery movement. It features a durable, sealed enclosure, adjustable cam segments for user-defined actuation points, and high-current contacts. Adjustments must be made internally while the switch is stationary. This model, discontinued in 2007, has specific dimensions, weight, and operating temperature range.
Our Repair Process for the
803-A44
Our repair process for Allen Bradley 803-A44 push buttons begins with a thorough inspection to identify contact degradation, actuator damage, spring fatigue, and terminal block issues. Technicians disassemble the push button to access internal components. Worn or corroded contacts are cleaned or replaced to ensure optimal conductivity and reliable circuit closure. Damaged actuators, including broken or sticking plungers, are repaired or replaced to restore proper mechanical function. Fatigued springs are replaced to guarantee appropriate actuation force and responsiveness. Damaged terminal blocks, including stripped threads or broken insulators, are repaired or replaced to establish secure wiring connections and system stability. Following component replacement and repair, the push button is reassembled and rigorously tested to verify proper operation and adherence to original performance specifications.
