Product Description

The Allen-Bradley 803-A44RA, a discontinued (since 2007) 803 series rotating cam limit switch, is a heavy-duty device designed for applications like metal forming, presses, assembly machines, and rotating tables where precise, repetitive control signals are needed based on shaft rotation. Featuring a "style A" housing, it offers four normally closed, 25A double break control circuits. Its watertight, dust-tight, and oil-tight (NEMA 4 & 13) enclosure houses a 40:1 speed reducer and a left-side shaft (0.75" diameter) with oversized ball bearings. Constructed with a steel base, iron side plates, vibration-resistant locking nuts, and cam-operated contacts, the 803-A44RA measures 274.6 x 301.6 x 173.0 mm (10.81 x 11.88 x 6.81 inches), weighs 17.7 kg (39 lbs), and operates optimally between -30 and 66 degrees Celsius (-22 to 150 degrees Fahrenheit). It can rotate clockwise or counterclockwise and be mounted in any plane.

Is Your Device Showing These Signs?

Allen Bradley 803-A44RA pushbuttons commonly exhibit issues such as contact degradation leading to intermittent or failed circuit continuity, requiring contact cleaning or replacement. Actuator wear and tear results in sticking or failure to return to the original position, necessitating actuator replacement. Spring fatigue diminishes responsiveness, demanding spring replacement. Terminal corrosion impedes electrical conductivity, solved by terminal cleaning or replacement. Complete failure of the pushbutton mechanism requires full unit replacement to restore functionality.
