Product Description
The Allen-Bradley 803-P4W is a robust, 4-circuit rotating cam limit switch (Style P) with an external sprocket for adjusting the relationship between the drive and shaft. Part of the 803 series, it features a spring-loaded cam-roller assembly and adjustable internal dwell and timing settings (adjustable only when not operating). It can be mounted in any orientation and operates in either direction. Standard Style P features include a 400 RPM maximum shaft speed, cam durations from 11 to 349, and 25 Amp normally closed double break contacts. This Type 1 enclosure rated switch weighs 18 lbs (8.2 kg) and operates in temperatures from -30 to 66C (non-operating: -30 to 93C). Its durability makes it ideal for repetitive machine cycles in applications like injection molding, steel forming, assembly, and packing. Typical shaft torques are 3 in-lbs (lobe), 7 in-lbs (ramp), and 0.5 in-lbs (valley).
Is Your Device Showing These Signs?
The Allen Bradley 803-P4W push button commonly experiences issues such as contact degradation leading to intermittent or failed signaling in industrial automation systems. Operators report problems with the actuator sticking or failing to return to its original position, hindering machine operation. Field technicians often address problems with the legend plate becoming illegible or damaged, requiring replacement to maintain clear labeling and safety compliance. Corrosion on electrical connections is a frequent cause of malfunction, necessitating cleaning or terminal replacement to ensure reliable electrical conductivity and prevent system downtime.
