The ProSoft MVI56-GEC is a generic Ethernet interface module that simplifies connecting ASCII devices to ControlLogix processors via TCP/IP. It consumes 3mA at 24VDC and 800mA at 5VDC from the backplane and utilizes LED indicators for monitoring and troubleshooting. It features an RJ45 Ethernet application port (PRT1, PRT2) with link/activity LEDs and hardware handshaking, and a separate RJ45 debug/configuration port (CFG) without hardware handshaking. P1 and P2 ports facilitate serial module interfacing. The MVI56-GEC occupies an I/O rack slot and uses proprietary backplane technology for efficient data transfer with the ControlLogix processor.
