Product Description
The ProSoft MVI56E-MNETC is an enhanced Modbus TCP/IP Multi Client/Server Network Interface Module for ControlLogix systems, occupying a single chassis slot and requiring 800mA at 5 VDC and 3mA at 24 VDC. It supports up to 30 Modbus clients and 20 Modbus servers, offering improved response in multi-server architectures and minimizing disruption from server outages. It facilitates HMI, SCADA, and DCS integration. Featuring a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port with auto-crossover detection, it's backward compatible, supports custom data mapping with 10,000 16-bit words, and uses an industrial CompactFlash card for disaster recovery. It requires ProSoft Configuration Builder (PCB) for configuration and either AOI (version 16+) or sample ladder program (version 15-). Operating temperature is 0-60C, storage is -25-70C. It supports 10 connections on service port 502 and 10 independent servers on port 2000, with the master server handling 30 clients and up to 16 commands simultaneously. Error codes, counters, and module status are accessible via server, client, ladder logic, and controller tags, ensuring compatibility with older Modbus versions and the 1756 ControlLogix backplane.
Is Your Device Showing These Signs?
The Allen Bradley MVI56E-MNETC module commonly experiences issues related to network connectivity, manifesting as communication failures on the EtherNet/IP network. Configuration errors within the module's parameters, such as incorrect IP addresses, subnet masks, or gateway settings, are frequent causes. Firmware corruption or outdated firmware versions can impede proper module operation, necessitating a firmware update. Hardware failures, including damaged Ethernet ports or internal component malfunctions, require module replacement. Software conflicts with the PLC backplane or other modules on the network also disrupt communication, demanding a thorough system diagnostic.
