Product Description
The Allen-Bradley SLC 505 is a compact, chassis-based processor module within the SLC 500 family, designed for enhanced stand-alone or distributed industrial control. It offers high-speed processing (0.9 microseconds per Kilo-word), up to 64K word programming memory, battery-backed CMOS RAM, and multiple communication interfaces including Ethernet (10/100 Mbps), RS-232/422/423, and DH-485. It supports Ladder-logic and structured-text programming, features a built-in clock for time-stamping, and can control up to 4096 discrete and 4096 remote I/O across a maximum of 3 local chassis (30 I/O modules). The module installs in slot 0 of a 1746 chassis, drawing 1 Amp at 5V DC. Models like the 1747-L551 (16K memory), 1747-L552 (32K memory), and 1747-L553 (64K memory) offer Ethernet I/P and RS232 for configuration, programming, and communication. It has a scan time of 0.9 ms/K and 107 program instructions. A 64K flash EEPROM option (e.g., 1747-M13) provides non-volatile memory backup.
